Detroit is a city which has faced many challenges in its lifetime. Yet it has a rich and varied history including music, architecture and car manufacturing. However, it has also experienced industrial decline, environmental issues and profound racial inequality. This show takes a look at projects which are supporting and improving the lives of the people of Detroit and the inspiring people who drive these projects forward. Yet those people are human too and I am interested in how they have overcome personal challenges which have allowed them to keep going. What have they drawn on? Family? Faith? Community? Specific practices which have helped them? This is all done from my view in Britain 3500 miles but with my interest in this extraordinary and endlessly fascinating city.
