Back in 2009 I stumbled on Mark and his partner Court at The Keyword Academy (now BudgetNerd.me). This was an online community of marketers who were trying to make money online. In fact, I found Mark because of the term “make money online,” which I was searching for in Google one day.

I joined The Keyword Academy when they offered a trial for $1. I could only afford that much back then and was happy to pay it. They posted a lot of good information on their blog and they quickly gained my trust.

I don’t know exactly how much time I spent in the academy, but I remember attending Mark’s weekly webinars and following everything they taught me to the letter. In fact, I believe it was my online marketing bootcamp. Even though the lessons taught back then didn’t really hold up, it gave me the discipline to stick it out for all these years. As it turns out, I became a secret success story for them. Very flattering.

Mark is a very sharp dude, and after we recorded the episode, we talked for an additional two hours about a bunch of insider industry stuff that, trust me, wasn’t worth recording..entirely.

This episode has a ton of insight into the world of building a business online. Mark has been in the game a long time and shares his experiences and what he’s learned from it all, which was not entirely what I expected.

If you’re thinking about starting a full online business or just looking to make some money on the side, this is a great episode to listen to. Also, Mark goes into great detail about starting an online membership site, but you have to give me your email address to listen to that because it’s a Skloosey, and it’s over an hour long!

Enjoy!
