There is some incredible talent and creativity here in Christchurch, and so many different musicians that deserve their time on the air. Falling Through the Cracks gives musicians a radio platform where they can share their talents. It’s a show dedicated to explorations, works in progress, experiments, new concepts and hidden creativity. Proudly sponsored by ARA Music and Arts, the programme plays tracks that you would not hear on mainstream radio: jazz, improvisation-based music, big band, world, indie and many other styles that cannot be pigeonholed. Music which is not often represented and falls through the cracks in the music industry but provides strong, colourful threads in New Zealand’s musical tapestry. Be sure to listen in to the show for an hour of great music, interviews, live performances and much more. The programme is hosted by Neill Pickard, a founder of the CPIT Jazz School. Falling Through the Cracks is a diverse programme that appeals to a broad spectrum of music lovers. Give your ears the chance to experience new musical flavours and insights into the life of a muso. Broadcast weekly on Thursdays at 7pm, tune in and treat yourself to some musical gems. Also subscribe to the podcasts to ensure you never miss a show.
