Welcome to the CG Chatter Podcast episode #30! In this episode I chat about the value of budgeting for computer graphics folks. After reminiscing about my many years of frivolous spending and how I finally become a budget-minded fellow, I discuss several key ways in which budgeting has helped me, and which I think are particularly relevant to the field of computer graphics:
- Planning and saving for computer and hardware upgrades
- Tracking expenses for tax purposes
- Making extra payments on student loans
- Making good meal choices
I also give a shout-out to YNAB (“You Need a Budget”), the budgeting software I’ve been using since 2011, which has helped me to totally turn around my approach to personal finance.
Happy budgeting!
