You may have heard stories of some entrepreneurs who have raised thousands, tens of thousands even hundreds of thousands of dollars for their projects, products, or business expansion and maybe you’ve wondered if your latest idea could be funded through some sort of crowdfunding campaign.

From relatively small projects – like publishing a book – to large projects like renovating an office building – crowdfunding as a way to raise money and fund projects has gone from novel idea to mainstream strategy.

But is it right for you?

I asked crowdfunding strategist Dr. Letitia Wright to come on the show and gives us the basics to help us get our collective heads around this.

As America’s Crowdfunding Strategist, Dr. Wright recently taught at Dallas Start Up Week 2016. Soon after that event, she traveled to Maui on an open invitation to be present and speak into the lives of the participants for Maui and Oahu Start Up Week 2016. She is the founder and head of the Crowdfunding Academy and invests her time, energy, and wisdom into other individuals by making sure they know everything that is required to run a successful Crowdfunding campaign and reach their goals.

Something fun about her? She has had a talk show on the Dish Network since about 2002.

Listen in as Dr. Wright reveals…

  • The 7 different types of crowdfunding
  • The one thing you never want to do when trying to crowdfund for your business The importance of PR in a crowdfunding campaign
  • The most important key to success in any crowdfunding effort
  • How long a crowdfunding campaign should last
  • What crowdfunding doesn’t save you from
  • And how participating in crowdfunding can help your children learn about investing

Be sure to listen all the way to the end so you can get your cocktail exercise and action step for this episode.
