One of the dreams we entrepreneurs bought into was that we’d put up a website and it would bring us new clients.

That’s true in theory but the devil is certainly in the details.

How do we get found by our ideal clients? How do we make it easy for clients to find us, to get the information they need, and to decide to buy? Do we really need to worry about mobile shoppers?

There’s been a growing focus on local search over the last several years and when one of my first guests – Jenn Foster – told me she thought it was important to address local marketing no matter what type of business you have, I knew this was a topic I needed to focus on.

And who better to get to talk about it than today’s guest whose company Jenn actually mentioned when I interviewed her?

Christian Ward leads the strategic partnerships team at Yext. With a background in creating and leading information and data companies, his focus is to help other businesses leverage the power of the Yext platform in their own strategies.

Prior to joining Yext, Christian was the Chief Data Officer at Infogroup as well as the Global Head of Content Innovation at Thomson Reuters.

So listen in and discover:

  • Why web presence optimization is important and how the adoption of mobile has impacted search
  • How to help Google and other search engines get your information right and how that impacts customers showing up
  • The components of a strong digital presence
  • Why information about your business online may not be accurate and what to do to fix it
  • Why directories have such power when it comes to your web presence
