This week on The Rounds Table we’re back by popular demand with another rapid fire episode: just the salient points from FOUR articles instead of two. Same time spent listening, twice the take-home! Kieran Quinn and Mike Fralick tease out the bottom line for listeners.

Both hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia are prevalent, real, concerns for patients and their physicians. Does a virtual glucose management service comprised of an interdisciplinary insulin stewardship team improve glycemic control? Listen to find out!

Next, it appears as though subclinical hypothyroidism in pregnancy affects neurocognitive development in offspring. Thus, screening is widespread. A recent RCT explores whether treating maternal hypothyroidism changes outcomes in offspring.

Back to diabetes! The third article is a systematic review and meta-analysis which examines the risks and benefits of SGLT2 inhibitors when used at the highest recommended doses.

Finally, a retrospective observational cohort study investigates the prognosis associated with resuming oral anticoagulant treatment in patients with atrial fibrillation who have previously sustained a hemorrhagic stroke or intracranial hemorrhage.
