It turns out that what a mind accepts is a big deal in the modern era. Here we take a look at mainstream accounts of Psychology via Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung. We would do well to keep in mind that Edward Bernays is the double nephew of Freud and successful at reshaping American culture – in a massive way. It could be asserted that Bernays was able to “hack” and change cultural norms based on understanding how the human mind works which is what his Uncle Sigmund and his pupil Carl Jung are known for. So did Jung and Freud discover how to hack the human mind? This is hard to know but there is little doubt that their work opened many doors into the human psyche which people like Bernays have used to astounding effect. Consider the modern era and how many minds believe in patently false ideas. How is this being accomplished? In a word… psychology. Truly, Belief is the Enemy of Knowing.
