February is Black History Month. Black History Month was created in 1926 as a month-long celebration to reflect on the history, teachings and achievements of African Americans. www.africanamericanhistorymonth.gov

We will have a School Site Council meeting on Tuesday at 4 pm. All are welcome. We will be discussing budgets for the new year. We will have an open meeting next week for any of our community to discuss budget priorities for the new year. Please note our South Gate Community of Schools will hold a Town Hall on Thursday, February 25, at 5 pm. Please see our website and social media platforms for Zoom login information for all of these meetings.

We will be distributing yearbooks tomorrow for anyone who purchased a 2019-2020 VAPA yearbook, between 9 am and 2 pm.

Please note our offices and the school campus will not be open at this time and we are working remotely.

COVID19 testing is being offered at several sites in the district including Legacy. All district staff, students, and their families may participate in the free testing program. For an appointment, go to https://achieve.lausd.net/covidtesting I also encourage you to look for messages regarding COVID19 vaccine availability. Currently, teachers, staff members, and community members 65 and older are eligible to receive a vaccine.
