Robert Jauron is a graduate of Swampscott High School, Brown University, and Suffolk University Law School and practiced law for 37 years before retiring in 2014. Thereafter he decided to write a book. He is the author of Big Blue Days - The Story of a Small-Town Football Dynasty in Swampscott Massachusetts.
The book, published in 2018, tells the story of legendary high school football coach Stan Bondelevitch and the remarkably successful program he established and led in Swampscott during the 1950s, ’60s, and ’70s. It is based on extensive archival research, interviews of more than 50 individuals, and the author’s own experiences (as Bob played football in Swampscott on Bondelevitch-coached teams in the mid-1960s).
In writing the story Bob hoped to provide an understanding of why he and many others recall those bygone years in Swampscott "as special times in a special place”. According to the Lynn Item’s front-page review of Big Blue Days:

"This book has it all: warm anecdotes, good insight into some of the era's greatest players, and — most of all — a fascinating character study of the man who made it all possible: Stanley Walter Bondelevitch.”
