Dr. Aaron Baggish is the Director of the Cardiovascular Performance Program at the Massachusetts General Hospital Heart Center. In addition to the numerous athletic organizations he serves as team cardiologist and physician, he is also medical director for the BAA Boston Marathon. In 2018, Aaron presented on the topic “Is Too Much Endurance Exercise Bad for Your Heart” It was my discovery of this presentation on YouTube that prompted me to reach out to Dr. Baggish. We will address the following questions: Is Too Much Endurance Exercise Bad for your Heart” What's the latest on getting back to running after covid? Is Alcohol that bad? When is your heart rate too low? What are the biggest medical concerns during and after a marathon? What does running a marathon actually do to our body?
