In this episode of the Fandomania: Geek Music podcast, I talk to Jason Amelio (and Foe the Destroyer!) from the Velveteen Band. Their latest release is What’s on the Other Side?. The album itself is really great, but a large part of the appeal of the band is in their visuals and stage presence. The lead singers are puppets, Foe (voiced and controlled by Jason) and Fum the Puppet (voiced by Captain Dan Flores and brought to life by Claire Flores), and their lead guitarist / trumpeter is Baron von Velveteen, an anthropomorphic rabbit (whose “real” identity remains a mystery). Yup, it’s pretty crazy and fun!

Songs played in the show:

  • “Holiday”
  • “Día de los Muertos”
  • “The Whovian People”
