Welcome to the first episode of the Life After the Uniform Podcast! This is not only the inaugural episode, it’s also my birthday! So, what better way to kick off a brand-new podcast, my birthday, and a new year than by interviewing the woman who has known me since birth, my mother, Terie Hynish?!?
But Terie isn’t JUST my mom. She’s also a 30-year veteran of the U.S. Navy! Terie enlisted in the Navy in 1968, during the Vietnam War, at a time when being a female in the military was not a normal occurrence. We’ll uncover what the Navy looked like in the late 60s and how it changed over the course of her career. Plus, find out how this retired Senior Chief started a lucrative travel business on her own terms, even during a pandemic! I’ll give you a hint: learn to live outside of your comfort zone – you might be surprised of what you can achieve!
