I will be 70 years old in April 2021. In 1971 at the age of 20, I left Sri Lanka on a scholarship to pursue higher studies in Germany. In 1982, after my PhD, I became a lecturer at the faculty of Mineralogy at the University of Berlin. In 1991, my wife, two children and I migrated to Perth, Australia.
