New Zealand fell silent today, collectively honouring those gunned down a week ago at two mosques in Christchurch. From Auckland to Wellington and Christchurch, thousands gathered for Salāt al-Jumu'ah, the Friday congregational prayer.
Mosques around Australia also held special memorial services this afternoon, after Friday prayers, in solidarity with the Christchurch victims and survivors, including Australia's biggest mosque in Lakemba, Western Sydney.
