The Matt and Dan Show left WMTU with a blast, playing a continuous show that was 64 hours long.This is their story.
Our 64 hour long radio power weekend gets extended to 64.5 hours. Dan talks about how his basement flooded; he lives in hell. The Goof arrives and speaks about how flooding has impacted his life. We sing along to Come Sail Away; it's beautiful."
We play a good portion of the Garden State soundtrack. Matt can't write things when he's tired.
Matt talks about how fast his facial hair grew during the radio power weekend. Matt sings a song because we've reached 60 hours of continuous radio. DJ Erin shows up and holds a conversation with Matt but this just confuses him. Matt talks, but he gets very few words correct.
Dan's back. Music. Matt and Dan would like to apologize for any inconsistencies you are feeling in the air.
Dan leaves for breakfast and Matt takes over the show. A variety of music gets played. Matt starts finding the post-it notes from last night and gets confused. Talks about verification of rotary phone callers.
Hazardous weather warning. We play clips from our "The Best of the Matt and Dan Show Collection".
Dan takes over the show and probably plays music that he's already played before. We play a comedian on radio who tells jokes about smart phones. DJ Elissa Barris helps out with the music selection because I've forgotten what I've played already. Just before the end Dan ruins Billy Joel's - Longest Time by turning the microphones on.…
Good music. Matt thinks the phone cord turned into a snake. Sometimes he forgets what he's saying and just says the station ID. Matt says the number 5, 5 times; It's everything a guy could ever dream for.
Matt reads Nicki Minaj's "Superbass". Dan goes to sleep for a couple of hours and Matt fights the good fight and stays up and mans the radio station.
It is now 1 AM and Matt is starting to lose it. He keeps finding sticky notes that tell him to do things. Matt reads 'Where the Wild Things Are', and then we take turns reading poem requests. Curious George squeezes his way in there too.
Intern DJ Jordan Wojdula is bringing down the house-y and then he tells you stories about Hitler. Then we start reading everything we can find in the station. Some great rock/indie covers get played.
Party music. Get jiggly wid' it.
We play 2112 through a fire drill. Then Matt and Dan talk about how many school bus lengths long 2112 is. Some harmonica and tambourine effects added to some songs. A lot of youtube videos are interspersed throughout this segment.
We need more cowbell. Bill Cosby shows up, but we have to tell him to shut up. More comedy stuff and some music. We finish with stories from Matt's childhood.
Forty Fifth Hour. Matt took karate to increase his reflectivity. This segment is full of goofy songs full of humor.By The Matt and Dan Show
Matt tells a reoccurring joke about Johny Depp and John C. Reily playing Beauty in our future radio drama 'Beauty and the Beastiality' which never happens. A really awesome PSA is played about skin cancer at the end, which we discuss in the next segment.By The Matt and Dan Show
