The difference between しか, ばかり and & だけ.
 
しか, written in hiragana is not Deer (鹿) and is similar to the だけ and ばかり, しか is a limiter. Like the previous grammar patterns is used right after the noun that it is showing the exception of, but しか can only be used in a negative sentence.

One thing to remember is to make sure that you are not confusing the English meaning of 'doing nothing but -verb-' which implied that you are free. While you can imply that meaning, it doesn't necessarily denote such a meaning in the Japanese.manga-sensei.com
