Today we are joined by the very impressive Dr. Emma Gatti, currently the editor-in-chief of SpaceWatch.Global, who brings with her a truly fascinating communications story and journey. She is a Cambridge-educated scientist with six years of experience working at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Caltech. As a researcher, she specialised in geochemistry and planetary sciences.
As a prolific science writer, she covers many subjects and is particularly interested in space law, space crime, space economy and everything connected with the geopolitics of space exploration.
From Lost in Space to Lost in Translation, in this episode, we tackled the challenges of space communication:
What can space exploration do to help humans and the environment on earth?
Is there a gender divide in space communications?
Are we too obsessed with sending rockets into space?
Are we dumbing down how we talk about science?
What's it like writing for science enthusiasts versus scientific academics?
The more you listen, the more curious you'll become!
