was a turning point for me. I was about to turn 50 and the world was about to undergo a millennium change. I started a business, a PhD program, and I started running to balance out the other two pursuits.

I ran my first marathon and qualified for the Boston Marathon.

 I ran the Boston Marathon.

- 2010: I did numerous triathlons, up to the half Ironman distance. Then I had rotator cuff surgery and quit swimming, so no more triathlons.

on: I rode a "century" (100 miles) about once a year for several years.

I sold my business and retired.

I cycled across the US with a small group called Ride to Awareness for mental health awareness.

I cycled across the US again cycling on my own but with a support car/driver and set my first Guinness World Record.

I cycled across Canada and set my second Guinness World Record.
