"Our veterans are doing better at finding jobs when they come back from active service. Where we are struggling is with mental health and suicide prevention," Jill Atwood, Chief Communications Officer for the VA explains on A Woman's View.
We are all touched by a veteran. It's okay to notice the warning signs and ask if you can help and reach out.
This is such a great reminder of what veterans need and how we can help.
We also talk about how veterans of different wars get help. We learned a lot from the Vietnam Veterans. The VA has a dedicated team so that a veteran can literally walk in and say, "Help," and someone will help. What's interesting is that some of the Vietnam veterans are coming in to get service for the first time.
