ABC Podcast: Alex and Brandon Chat

On this week's episode, Alex and Brandon chat about Xenomorphs vs. Yautja.

After a long and unexpected break, Alex and Brandon have found time to get back to doing what they do best; talk for a long time about meaningless stuff. The start by recapping their lives over the past few weeks, then move on to unboxing the most recent Marvel and Star Wars boxes from Funko. Then Alex chooses the subject for the ABC's of Geekdom segment, and the boys take a deep dove into the history of a planet in a galaxy far away. After that, they cover corrections from the previous show, including the Zelda escape room game, Mycroft Holmes in the 22nd century, Finn the Human's last name, Harry Potter release dates (again), Ermac's origin, Land Before Time, Call of Duty, tv show spin offs of movies, Russell Crowe, Cara Delevigne, the Wonder Twins, Iron Fist, Perfect Blue, and Johnny Cage. But they don't stop there as they dive right into news, including release dates for the Avatar sequels, characters for the upcoming New Warriors show, a new King Kong tv show, James Gunn writing and directing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Carrie Fisher not appearing in Episode IX, Josh Brolin cast as Cable, the passing of Charlie Murphy, Jude Law cast as young Dumbledore for the upcoming Fantastic Beasts sequel, a release date for a new He-Man movie, Jeff Goldblum in Jurassic World 2, Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen and Timon and Pumba in the live action Lion King remake, a slew of Disney movie release dates, and an update on Young Justice season 3.

After the break, they go over some trailers, including the Last Jedi, Thor: Ragnarok, a new prologue movie for Alien Covenant, Atomic Blonde, Kingsman: the Golden Circle, Cloak and Dagger, the Mist, Injustice 2, and Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite. Then Alex runs down some hot takes, including Rick and Morty, Skylanders Academy, Death Note, Ash vs. Evil Dead, Preacher, Hell or High Water, and Mulholland Drive. Then, finally, Alex and Brandon have their long-awaited discussion about the controversial movie Alien vs. Predator (spoilers from around 2:30:54-2:55:44). You know they love it, but the only way to find out how much they love it is to listen to their nerd-fueled dissection of it. Last but not least, they close things out with an all-new Fan Fic Fights between masters of teleportation.
