Step-By-Step Guide To Creating A Product Launch Campaign [Members Training Video]

Jeff Walker is a New York Time bestselling author of the book Launch and the father of the online product launch.

And recently, Jeff launched the latest version of product launch formula using a funnel that looked exactly like the campaign roadmap above.

Now the pages Jeff used to build his product launch formula funnel are now available inside of LeadPages so you can use them for your next product launch.

Now let’s quickly go through how to set up each tactic in a product launch campaign just like Jeff Walker’s Product Launch Formula.

First, you’ll drivestraffic to opt-in pages. These opt-in pages then lead to a series of video prelaunch landing pages, which connect with his prospects and build interest around the product.

Once the cart opens all these pages redirect to the sales video.

This is a great way to build anticipation for a product launch while also growing your list.

Typically, how it works is…

  1. Prelaunch video number 1 goes out on a Thursday
  2. Prelaunch video #2 goes out on the following Tuesday
  3. Prelaunch video 3 goes out the following Thursday
  4. Sales video goes the next Tuesday along with your cart opening, followed by…
  5. Your cart closing after one week

Now let’s take a closer look at the pages used in this launch campaign…

The Product Launch Formula uses two different opt-in pages as the initial entrance to the launch funnel. These are pages you drive traffic to.

The first page is called the video fakeout page.

The reason it’s called a video fakeout page is because when someone clicks to play the video, it prompts for an opt-in to watch.

Here’s an example…

VIDEO TRAINING SERIES “Do You Know How To Double Your Sales WITHOUT Increasing Your Website Traffic?

The next opt-in page is the updated video background opt-in page.

It’s simple, it’s clean and it’s proven over and over to add leads to your funnel because the page is eye catching and unique.

Once someone opts in on any of your opt-in pages, they’ll be taken to this prelaunch page that contains the prelaunch videos to build anticipation and urgency before your cart opens.

You will use this page for prelaunch page number 1, prelaunch page #2 and prelaunch page #3.

Finally, your fourth prelaunch page will be this video sales page. Once your cart opens, every prelaunch page will be redirected to this video sales page.

Here’s an example of a good video sales page…

To add things like videos, Facebook comments and so on just click on the element and enter in the information it asks for.

In the case of this video, I’ll just paste in the embed code, which you can get from YouTube, Vimeo, Wistia or any other site that gives you an embed code.

For this example, I’ve gone through and customized the opt-in pages, prelaunch content pages and sales page for my campaign flow.

Now that these pages are all made, let me show you how to easily hook them altogether to form a complete funnel just like Jeff Walker.

Inside whatever opt-in page you’re using, click on the button to have your two-step optin box open – then click on thank you page.

In this box, paste in the URL for your prelaunch page. Now when someone views the page and opts-in they’ll immediately be sent to your first pre-launch content page.

You’ll notice in the first prelaunch page that the upcoming pages are all grayed out.

Once a new page of prelaunch content is released, we’ll allow people to click on these links so that they can easily navigate between the pages. So we’ll only link to the next page once the prelaunch content is released.

Now let me show you how to link to the next prelaunch page…

We’ll navigate to this section over in the content section here and we’ll click on the gear next to link to then click options.

Finally, just paste in the URL of the next content page under target URL.

Now when I view the page, you’ll see prelaunch page #2 is clickable while prelaunch page 3 and 4 are still grayed out.

We’ll then go back and do the same thing as each prelaunch page is released. When the cart opens, we’ll connect the fourth prelaunch page, which is our video sales page to the shopping cart. So just click on the buy button and select options.

Then input the URL for your shopping cart.

Also, once your cart opens, you’ll want to redirect the first three prelaunch pages so that they go straight to you final video sales page. To do this, find your prelaunch pages inside of the landing page sections.

Now enter the URL to your video sales page. This way if people click on URLs going to any of the first three pre-launch pages, they’ll now be redirected to the sales page.
