Every time you take a step your feet interact with the ground which sends forces upwards into the body; at the same time the weight of your body presses down on top of the foot. The foot is structurally designed to handle these forces, however if your feet do NOT function properly it could affect many other parts of your body.
On this episode of All About Fitness, Dr. Emily Splichal, a podiatrist with a movement background in gymnastics and experience as a fitness instructor, talks about the role your feet play in how your body is designed to move. We discuss the role that minimalist shoes could play in your fitness program, in addition, Dr. Splichal provides important insights on what you can be doing to improve the health and function of your feet.
