The biggest weight loss company in the world are in a flurry of re-branding, busily trying to distract us from their nefarious origins as the purveyor of countless diet casualties with sparkly, on trend 'health' talk. But underneath all the glitter is EXACTLY the same shit: Weight Watchers is absolutely all about weight loss (and regain, of course, so you'll stay dependent on them). This week I spoke with fierce and fabulous Zoe Nicholson from The Moderation Movement, who beautifully illustrates in NO uncertain terms how Weight Watchers are spruiking messages of health whilst blithely continuing to focus on appearance - and sneaking in subliminal weight loss messaging along the way. The fact is, it doesn't matter HOW Oprah is looking at the Emmys, dressing up diet prison and calling it 'a structure we can live in' is a stinky, underhanded thing to do. #buggeroffweightwatchers
