From a hyperteloric child of five, pale, weak and with mild rachitic changes, who had bled slightly from the rectum from time to time during the few months prior to admission, and who was finally brought for attention following a prolapse of the rectum. Rectal examination revealed polypi and biopsy showed two of these to be simple mucous adenomatous polypi. A complete colectomy was eventualy decided upon after some months' general treatment for malnutrition and oedema, and recovery followed. About ten months later the ileostomy became strangulated, but this was relieved and full recovery ensued.
