How to Help Others: Find Pain or Pleasure
A big part of building a good relationship with someone is to help them solve their pain or help them reach their pleasure.
When you are networking, it is always good to listen to the other person and try to find out if they have a pain or are looking for a pleasure. Ask more questions and really get to know the person you are talking with.
More than likely, you will find out what the other person is looking for. If you can personally help them with this, then great! You can let them know what you can do for them.
For example, if someone says their roof is leaking and you fix roofs, then you can easily help them. Most of the time, you wont be able to directly help them. But you can introduce them to someone who can. Introducing them to the person who can help them, is not as powerful as you directly doing it, but it still will keep you on their mind. If the person you introduce them to helps them, then it will be powerful.
They will want to help you in the future. If the person you introduce them to cant help them, then they will still like the gesture but it wont stay on their mind too long.
Introducing people is a great way to help others fix their pain or reach their pleasure. Whenever you can't help someone directly, you should try to think of someone yo can refer them too. It will increase your network rapidly.
