Author (along w/Ian Winwood) of the indispensible two volume Metallica histories, 'Birth School Metallica Death' (1983 - 1991) & 'Into The Black' (1991 - 2014), Paul Brannigan, joins Tom to dig into his own personal story with the band, as well as his experiences as both interviewer and chronicler of the giants themselves.

Also a contributor to Rolling Stone, Classic Rock, Kerrang! and Planet Rock magazines, Paul Brannigan is the author of Sunday Times bestseller 'This Is A Call: The Life and Times of Dave Grohl' and 'Thinking Out Loud: The Wit and Wisdom of Lemmy.' His forthcoming Eddie Van Halen biography 'Eruption' is due for publication in 2018.
