Brian chats with Dave Mabie about hunting black bears with hounds in Wisconsin. Dave runs Platt Hounds on Bear, Bobcat, Coyotes, Coons & Wolves. We chat about how he got into hunting over hounds. Dave and Brian conversate about some of the public perception issues surrounding hound hunters.
Some other topics we touch on, WI Wolf hunt, Dog Training Regulation changes, and some history of the Platt Hounds.
Dave also touches base on Wisconsin's learn to hunt program and his role in coordinating the black bear hunt! Dave also is part of the Wisconsin Conservation Congress (rep) and he shares some of the structure that is unique to the state.
