#510: Welcome to the Anxiety Slayer podcast. Today Shann is speaking Dr. Dain Heer on how we can support our youth who are struggling with depression, self-esteem, and an alarming increase in the rate of suicide.

Suicide prevention remains a universal challenge. It is responsible for over 800,000 deaths or one suicide every 40 seconds. In 2019, worrying trends in U.S. suicide rates continued as suicide ranked the 2nd leading cause of death for 10-to 34-year olds.

…From the outside, Dr. Dain had a seemingly perfect life, but what no one knew is that he had set a date to take his own life. Years later, his mission continues to save lives each year by sharing his own story and to bring hope to others battling unworthiness.

We discuss suicide as a result of feeling worthless and “wrong” in the face of societal ideals and pressures.

Dr. Dain shares some of the Access Consciousness tools that saved him from committing suicide 20 years ago.
