Martin Buber: I and He
Martin Buber was a 20th century German-Jewish existentialist philosopher, most famous for his philosophy of dialogue or relation. His beautiful book, I and Thou counts as one of my most treasured possessions, partly because it actually contains treasures, and partly because it sits nostalgically at the very beginning of a long journey into the heart of philosophy. Buber’s philosophy is in some ways like a symbolic home – no matter where I venture, whatever the terrain may be, I always seem to return there.
