In this episode, we interview Dr. Jennifer Kawwass and Dr. Katie Cameron about the recent Ethics Committee opinion regarding fertility care during public health crises. Dr. Kawwass, who is the medical director of Emory Reproductive Center and an associate professor of division of reproductive endocrinology and infertility, guest researcher for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and Dr. Cameron, director of third-party reproduction at Johns Hopkins Fertility Center, share insights about the document and how it came about, the role of the government in its development, the role of advocacy moving forward, and more. Listen in for a thoughtful discussion on how reproductive medicine can respond appropriately to public health crises while still providing necessary care to marginalized patient populations.
