In this episode I am joined by... no one! Well, I was joined by someone inside the venue, but not during the taping of this episode. This episode might end up being my most personal episode. I dive right into the world of anxiety, depression, and potentially OCD (emphasis on the "O") that I've become friends with over the last 32 years on Earth.
My goal in sharing this story is two-fold. First, the selfish reason: to have an oral record capturing my struggles, before I forget details (I may have already forgotten a few). Secondly, the more important/wider reason: to show that it is nothing to be ashamed about. Mental health is just as legit as physical health - in fact, they can often be tied together - and I want more people to feel like they can talk about their past and what they are currently fighting, and eventually where they see this road taking them.
I was inspired to tell my complete story, since I am almost certain that I will never be interviewed by John Moe on his podcast (and that's OK). I don't completely rip him off, but that's only because he has a great production team, is more knowledgable about how to edit a show, and is professional. Thank you, John and all of the guests - you are making a difference, one that is deep and honestly life-changing.
