Summary: In this scripture, we encounter two people, a man and woman, Simeon and Anna, a prophet and prophetess, who are granted the occasion by God to see, recognize, and acknowledge the Messiah, which is Jesus. The Scripture says one was looking for the “consolation of Israel,” while the other is looking for the “redemption of Jerusalem.” Both are spokespersons for God, blessing Him, giving thanks, taking nothing for granted, and will tell others around them concerning the Messiah. Today we look into Simeon's obedience, his patience, his proclamation, and his prophecy.
