Catherine Pazvakavambwa was born in Zimbabwe at a time of what she calls “great political and cultural change”.
Cat, as she’s called by almost everyone close to her, learnt early on that the first-born in an African family held heavy responsibilities.
And she has never shirked that responsibility. At the age of just 10, she was in boarding school, and she has since been a very independent woman who sets a goal and strives to achieve it.
At just 17, Cat packed up her room at the boarding school in Harare in Zimbabwe and headed to Perth to study at the University of Western Australia.
