It is hard enough to have one overwhelming emotion take over our thoughts and behaviors. But it is even more difficult for most of us to have two or three very opposite emotions. Our thoughts tell us that we should argue for these positions so that one of the emotions “wins.” But is that really what is the most effective plan? Is it possible that conflicted emotions can help us to heal, even help us to plan our lives in some way?
