Chernobyl is one of the more important man made disasters of the 20th century. It was the culmination of all our nuclear fears, and arguably the blow that started the final breakdown of the Soviet Union. This is an examination of what caused that disaster, both the technical failures and the human mistakes that contributed to the meltdown.
