The Zip to Zap started off as a lark, a small getaway planned but North Dakota State University students in 1969. They planned to drive to the tiny town of Zap, based on nothing more than the fact that the name sounded funny, and have a little spring break fun. But then the story hit the news and things started to get out of hand. This is the story of the Zip to Zap, a party that got so far out of hand the National Guard was called to break it up.
