Organizing a practice from a predictable to unpredictable way so that it transfers better into games.
Manage episode 230000271 series 100119
Coach Caliendo and Mongero discuss many aspects of the most proficient ways
to create a practice which transfers into real game situations. They discuss
what really makes a practice fun and what is the importance of it.
Utilization of stopwatches in ground balls and drills. How to keep a
positive atmosphere which creates a better learning environment yet making
corrections and creating pressure to get them ready for real games. It’s a
system which covers the basics to make sure the body understands the proper
movement patterns. Then going further in letting young players go from
predictable ways to unpredictable and further from simple to complex. Many
times we constrain players movements by being too robotic. They get into
throwing drills, techniques and specialty throwing for real game situations.
Plus fielding a major specialty of coach Mongero, alternate grip throwing,
beating ball to the spot techniques and more.
