The Africa CDC plans to distribute 10 million mpox vaccines by the end of 2025, with Nigeria and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) receiving initial doses. The DRC hopes to receive its first doses of an mpox vaccine by next week, said the Congolese health minister. A case of the new variant, Clade Ib, was confirmed in Sweden last week and linked to a growing outbreak in Africa.
