Some hypnotic, dark and beautifully crafted beats for your ears! Sergio Miranda, a Mexico-born Belgium resident, found his passion for the world of vinyl, turntables and the DJ culture at the lawless warehouses and outdoor parties that took the streets of Mexico City in the late 80s. His love for those early house / acid / techno sounds and the dark electronic melodies from new wave and rock bands such as New Order, Depeche Mode and The Cure, meant he soon started working as a lighting technician before getting his first taste behind the decks in the early 90s. As of that moment and for more than a decade, he has enjoyed a long and varied DJ career: he has played in many clubs in Mexico City, hotels in Cancun, the Dominican Republic and Fuerteventura Spain. In conjunction with this, Sergio has also held the position of sound and lighting technician for several musical theatre productions. After a few years of self-imposed abstinence and building on the existing technical possibilities, Sergio has launched a monthly music podcast called “Beats with bits” with the sole purpose of showcasing the hypnotic realms of emotional, melancholic, raw dark electronic music.
