If you were a London Knights fan in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s Gene Chiarello was a household name. I had the fortunate opportunity to sit down with Gene and talk about how it all began in Sault Ste. Marie, ON, his move to the OHL in London, and how he found his way to Fredericton, NB. From minor hockey to NHL training camps, Gene opens up and shares some entertaining stories, advice and experiences about his hockey career. He also speaks about the biggest fight of his life; being told he had a brain tumour and was facing death. Gene’s character and personality shine as he takes us through this life changing event, how he faced and beat cancer and his life now as a survivor. Gene is very open and honest throughout this podcast discussing personal and public issues with some great insight on life, family and the game of hockey. We hope you enjoy the episode!
