Psalm 127 and 128 – Psalms of Ascents.

Fathers, in everything we are dependent, fully dependent on the grace of God. Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build the house. We do our part, but the increase is God’s.

It is so easy to be pulled in to the trap of workaholism. It isn’t that there aren’t going to be busy times, but if we are becoming entangled in the things of this world… we need to be aware of how much time we are spending on things of this world vs our family.

It is important for Fathers to teach their children that they have dignity before God, that they belong to God. God has called us to a higher place.

Malachi 2:15 – Children are a heritage from the Lord. Raising children is the father’s highest and most mobile calling. What else do we find in scripture that is a heritage from the Lord.

If you’re struggling as a dad, there is good news! God doesn’t want you just to survive as a father, he wants to help you thrive in your position and role as a father.

Psalm 127: 4-5 – A good archer in the Bible times needed to really know his arrows. They were all a bit different. Children are similar in that they have uniquer personalities and are capable of doing incredible things. Study your children carefully, support and nurture them as they grow.

Zechariah 4:6 – “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.”

We have a high calling, but we also have a great God. A God who is also our good, good Father.
