It's week two of our Halloween 'Season of the Wolf', and we're moving from Japanese anime to a very British take on the Werewolf movie genre - Neil Marshall's 2002 cult hit Dog Soldiers. Join us as we discuss our new-found appreciation for Sean Pertwee, Liam Cunningham's striking resemblence to Jean Reno and one of the greatest exit lines in cinema history...
An official sequel to Dog Soldiers was actually on the cards for a while, but sadly it never quite came to fruition. We have some ideas for how it might have looked though, including a TV sitcom crossover, a Taika Waititi-inspired mockumentary and a prequel that fleshes out Kevin McKidd's strong on-screen aversion to dog murder.
Beyond The Box Set is a movie podcast with a creative twist. Each week, we don't just review a classic movie from cinema's archives, we also set ourselves the challenge of pitching a sequel, prequel or spin-off to bring them back to the big screen. With ideas ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous - emphasis on the latter - we're virtually guaranteed to change the way you look at some of your favourite films.
You can discover Beyond The Box Set on all good podcasting platforms, including iTunes, Spotify and Podbean. If you enjoy the show please consider leaving a review and hitting subscribe to receive a brand spanking new episode every Friday morning.
