mad-anugrahaya paramam
guhyam adhyatma-samjnitam
yat tvayoktam vacas tena
moho ‘yam vigato mama

arjuna? uv?ca—Arjuna said; mat-anugrah?ya—just to show me favor; paramam—supreme; guhyam—confidential; adhy?tma—spiritual; sa?jñitam—in the matter of; yat—what; tvay?—by You; uktam—said; vaca?—words; tena—by that; moha?—illusion; ayam—this; vigata?—is educated; mama—my.

TRANSLATION
Arjuna said: I have heard Your instruction on confidential spiritual matters which You have so kindly delivered unto me, and my illusion is now dispelled.

VERSE 2

bhavapyayau hi bhutanam
srutau vistaraso maya
tvattah kamala-patraksa
mahatmyam api cavyayam

SYNONYMS
bhava—appearance; apyayau—disappearance; hi—certainly; bh?t?n?m—of all living entities; ?rutau—have heard; vistara?a?—detail; may?—by me; tvatta?—from You; kamala-patr?k?a—O lotus-eyed one; m?h?tmyam—glories; api—also; ca—and; avyayam—inexhaustible.

TRANSLATION
O lotus-eyed one, I have heard from You in detail about the appearance and disappearance of every living entity, as realized through Your inexhaustible glories.

evam etad yathattha tvam
atmanam paramesvara
drastum icchami te rupam
aisvaram purusottama

SYNONYMS
evam—that; etat—this; yath?ttha—as it is; tvam—You; ?tm?nam—the soul; parame?vara—the Supreme Lord; dra??um—to see; icch?mi—I wish; te—You; r?pam—form; ai?varam—divine; puru?ottama—O best of personalities.

TRANSLATION
O greatest of all personalities, O supreme form, though I see here before me Your actual position, I yet wish to see how You have entered into this cosmic manifestation. I want to see that form of Yours.

manyase yadi tac chakyam
maya drastum iti prabho
yogesvara tato me tvam
darsayatmanam avyayam

SYNONYMS
manyase—if You think; yadi—if; tat—that; ?akyam—able to see; may?—by me; dra??um—to see; iti—thus; prabho—O Lord; yoge?vara—the Lord of all mystic power; tata?—then; me—unto me; tvam—You; dar?aya—show; ?tm?nam—Yourself; avyayam—eternal.

TRANSLATION
If You think that I am able to behold Your cosmic form, O my Lord, O master of all mystic power, then kindly show me that universal self.
