For Christians, there seems to be one question that drives them more than any other - and that is simply, "How do I know for sure?" How do I know that I'm really saved? How do I know that I haven't messed it up so bad that God could never accept me? How can I ever really be sure? Those are serious concerns for Christians because we know that this life is temporary...and like we talked about last week...this life is hard. And we want to be sure that even when we mess up, we can have confidence that God is holding on to us and that our future and salvation are secure.
