We duiken terug in de jaren '70. Top gitaarmerken konden amper de vraag bijhouden wat een gevolg had voor de kwaliteit van hun instrumenten. De prijs bleef hoog maar de kwaliteit daalde dus. Dit zorgde voor een gat in de Amerikaanse markt dat werd opgevuld door goedkopere maar geen minderwaardige gitaren. Ze werden bijna exact vervaardigd zoals Gibson & Fender gitaren. Daar kwamen dus rechtszaken van. We hebben een gesprek met Brent Gabriëls een Belg die al jaren in Canada woont, gitaren verzamelt en eigenaar is van drie zulke 'Lawsuit' gitaren. Luister mee.
We dive back into the 70s. Top guitar brands could barely keep up with the demand from beginning guitarists. This had an impact on the quality of their instruments. The price remained high, but the quality declined. This created a gap in the American guitar market that was filled by cheaper Japanese but not inferior guitars. They were manufactured almost exactly like Gibson & Fender guitars. So there were lawsuits. We have a conversation with Brent Gabriëls, a Belgian who has lived in Canada for years, collects guitars and owns three such 'Lawsuit' guitars. Listen in.
