“June 24th was one of the greatest days of my life,” Toby Baxendale says, referring to the vote for Britain to leave the European Union in 2016. Perhaps not an unusual statement given 52 per cent of Brits agreed with his decision. But given Tony invests in eight businesses and founded and then sold the UK’s largest fresh fish processor and distributor, Direct Seafoods, it bucks much of the anti-Brexit free-trade thinking. Toby joined Tim and Jen to explain why he believes Britain’s future and trade agreements – free from the bureaucracy of Brussels - will be brighter post-Brexit. Toby is also a trustee of the Legatum Institute, a charity and think tank that focuses on understanding, the journey from poverty to prosperity.
