Building Healthy Connections is a space created for healthcare administrators, doctors, nurses, medical interpreters and other medical professional to discuss culture, language and diversity. Berthine Crèvecoeur West is a Nationally-Certified Interpreter, Translator and Interpreter Trainer, licensed by the Bridging The Gap Medical Interpreter Training Program. Ms. Crèvecoeur West obtained both her Bachelor of Arts degree (Government & Politics), as well as her Master of Arts degree (Government & Politics/International Relations) from St. John's University in Jamaica, NY. In 2010, she established BC West Translations USA, LLC. In 2012, Ms. Crèvecoeur West received her national medical interpreter certification as a Core Certification Healthcare Interpreter™ from the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters (CCHI). Ms. Crèvecoeur West is the first Nationally-Certified Medical Interpreter for Haitian Creole in the State of Georgia. Ms. Crèvecoeur West currently serves as the President of the Medical Interpreter Network of Georgia (MING), as well as the CCHI Delegate for the State of Georgia and the International Medical Interpreters Association (IMIA) Chair for the State of Georgia. She is also a member of the American Translators Association (ATA) and Atlanta Association of Interpreters and Translators (AAIT).
