This week Taylor and Mads talk about their filmmaking backgrounds, how they plan to hit the ground running when they launch their freelancing business in Copenhagen, ideas for a company logo, and Taylor's hepatitis scare. Taylor and I are starting a company, but have no practical experience in business. In this episode of Burning Boat Business we go back to our high school days and talk about how we first got into filmmaking and how we plan to utilise the experience and skills we do have. Being a filmmaker and entrepreneur have interesting similarities. After being told by the doctor that he might have hepatitis due to some unusually high liver levels, Taylor talks about how it made him suddenly contemplate if he was doing what he wanted to do in life. It turns out he is fine and doesn't have hepatitis, but the experience made him even more excited about having chosen to follow his passion and start a production company. Mads talks briefly about how similar experiences at the end of his time at university made him question if he was really doing what he wanted to be doing in life. Looking back it is clear that he wasn't, and that alcohol was being used as something to dull the pain. The meeting naturally flows back into a discussion about ideas for a company logo. A paper boat and ship blue print are two of our ideas. In the end we have to figure out what we want our logo to convey.
