In this episode I share with you why keeping a diary or a to-do list won’t necessarily help you.
You can’t just go on a Time Management Course and then be productive, you need to understand what your main purpose is and how you are being measured against your KPI’s.
As mentioned, if we want to improve ourselves, we have to do things differently. But first off, we need to make some decisions!
Identifying your WHY as a professional is key, however today episode is about understanding the fundamentals and working out how they all link together.
These 5 elements are what I focused on over the last 6 years that helped me double my salary in the corporate world.
The 5 factors that are sequentially linked together are;
- Leadership Development
We need to understand the Fundamentals of Leadership, and understanding how we tick, why we tick, why we do things the way we do and why we behave in such a way. It is also important to understand how we fit in the organisation and structure.
- Personal Performance
How are we actually performing at work? Are you putting your weight? I can’t stress enough, we need to understand what we’re doing, what we’re trying to do, and why we’re doing it. In our careers, we need to correctly identify our key performance indicators and ensure that we are achieving them.
- Health and Well-being
Although people usually forget about it, we need to understand that health and well-being is a very important key to being a productive leader. That is why, it is necessary to make sure we get our work-life balance just right. In this section, I also discuss the importance of effective communication.
- Business Performance
How is the whole business performing? Do you know where your individual performance contributes to the whole companies? How is your team performing? As a confident and consistent leader, you should always know the answers to these questions.
- Team Development
Team building and team development is one of my favourite things to do. Team building is fun and empowering, but it is also important to talk about the reason why you building your team. We need to understand where other stakeholders are fitting into this, we want to have an inspired team, a team that is happy to be working with you. In this section, I discuss how to build an inspired team.
At the end of the day, it is all about taking ACTION and adding massive VALUE to your organisation as a Leader.
